2021 PNW Education & Workforce Summit + Virtual Job & Career Fair

On Wednesday, April 28, 2021, the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce will hold their 2021 PNW Education & Workforce Summit and Virtual Job & Career Fair. The summit will act as a collective look into the status of the school-to-work pipeline in the Seattle Southside region while the job and career fair will be a focused effort to connect community members with employment opportunities and family-wage careers.

“The goal for this event to ensure that local youth and those seeking a career transition know about educational and career pathways that have high earning potential and are available locally in South King County,” said Chamber President/CEO Andrea H. Reay. 

The event will begin with a Welcome with Tukwila Mayor Allan Ekberg, followed by speaker presentations featuring representatives from ANEW, Blue Origin, Generation, Highline College, Maritime Blue, Port Jobs,Sea Potential, and Seattle Goodwill along with a short Audience Q&A Session.

The Summit will be followed by a Virtual Job & Career Fair in partnership with WorkSource and South Seattle College. During this period of economic recovery, it is as important as ever that the community can collaborate to connect job seekers to family-wage careers. The participating employers represent a variety of employment opportunities and family-wage career pathways that are all essential to a thriving Southside community.

The job fair will feature 50 South King County businesses, such as...

“Seattle-King County’s WorkSource system is proud to host a virtual job fair to bring opportunities to young people and those who may have lost their job during the pandemic,” said Beth Blanchard, WorkSouce System Director for Seattle-King County. “We still miss having in-person events, but as the economy heats up, this virtual job fair will make it convenient for job seekers and employers to get connected.”

Out of a commitment to equity and inclusion, these events are free for all members of the community. Registration is required.
