SUMMARY

The Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County (WDC) is seeking a website design consultant to create a new website and intranet to replace or improve the existing WorkSourceSKC.org and Learning Exchange. The consultant will work closely with the WDC’s communications team and key subject matter experts (SMEs) within the WorkSource Seattle-King County (WS-SKC) system to assess the needs and requirements, advise on platforms and integrations, and design and build the website(s).

The Project

WorkSourceSKC.org has become a vital online resource for career support and training, particularly during the pandemic. Now, we’re recognizing its potential to do even more. Our goal is to transform this website into a centralized hub for local services, helping to enhance the user experience and meet the evolving needs of our community. That’s where your expertise comes in!

We’re on the hunt for a talented web design consultant who can work with our communications team and SMEs to create a new, dynamic website for WorkSourceSKC.org, as well as an internal-facing intranet. You’ll examine our current website and intranet to see what’s working and what needs a revamp. You’ll check out the structure, content, and tech, working with our team to pinpoint exactly what we need. Plus, you’ll be checking out the competition to see what we can learn.

Then, you’ll share your insights and ideas so we can scope out the design together. We’re thinking about a streamlined, intuitive website that’s accessible and multilingual. A place where customers can easily find what they’re looking for, sign up for services, and provide us with valuable feedback. And finally, an organized, informative, and efficient intranet that serves staff needs with a communications hub, training resources, and hosting important information.

You’ll be at the helm of the redesign process, making it not only look better, but also easier to navigate and optimized for both mobile and desktop users. Sounds like your kind of challenge? We can't wait to hear from you!

Cost & Budget

We want to be transparent about costs and budgets. When you apply, include your fee structure along with your application. If we shortlist you based on your qualifications and approach, we may ask for an interview and discuss your proposed budget in more detail.

The plan is to kick off this project around September 2023 and it should take about 4-6 months. We have a few milestones lined up where you'd be earning $XX, and when all deliverables are met, another $XX. But if you have different ideas for the timeline or payment structure, feel free to suggest those in your application.

Proposal Submission

Ready to take on this exciting challenge? Great! Please email your application in PDF format to contracts@seakingwdc.org by August 4, 2023. Make sure your email subject starts with “Application: RFQ #23-001-WKS.”
