Partnering for Access: How We Bridge King County’s Digital Divide
Equipping communities for the future of work starts with building access to the digital world. That’s why we are celebrating the incredible people and partnerships driving digital equity in King County.
At our WorkSource Auburn site, Digital Navigator Said Hosseini helps job seekers build both digital skills and confidence. Said brings patience, professionalism, and passion to his role, empowering others to navigate technology with purpose and self-assurance.
This year, Said has hosted graduation events for digital skills students where participants earned NorthStar Digital Literacy certificates, marking key milestones in their digital learning journeys. Through the guidance and encouragement of Said and other WorkSource staff, these participants gained not just new skills, but the confidence to pursue online training, job opportunities, and community resources.
Each graduate also received a laptop from PCs for People through a series of distribution events WDC has proudly organized with support from Comcast. These laptops represent more than just devices; they open doors to digital access for job seekers, ensuring that everyone has the tools they need to succeed in a connected world.
“Whenever a person comes here looking for assistance and comes back to the office and says, ‘Hey, I got this job by your assistance’… that feels totally rewarding.”
— Said, Digital Navigator, WorkSource Auburn
A Partnership Driving Digital Inclusion
The Workforce Development Council is honored to partner with Comcast, whose contributions have helped fund Digital Navigators at local WorkSource sites. This investment signifies a shared commitment to bridging the digital divide, fostering inclusivity, and ensuring that the benefits of technology reach every corner of our community.
Together with Comcast, AmeriCorps, the American Connection Corps, and our dedicated staff, we’re building pathways toward community-driven digital futures where everyone has access to the tools, training, and confidence to thrive.
As we celebrate Digital Inclusion Week, we extend our gratitude to all who make this work possible. From partners to program participants, your efforts bring our shared vision of digital equity to life.
