   Programs for Job Seekers

The WDC lets the needs of our customers drive our resource investments and looks for linkages with industry.
WorkSource is a system throughout the state that delivers employment and training services for adults making career transitions—including dislocated workers—as well as employers. The WDC oversees and sets the direction of the WorkSource system in Seattle and King County.

Job seekers who have been laid off or lost a job through no fault of their own can receive services for dislocated workers. Youth and adults with low incomes and/or barriers such as limited work history, lack of academic and occupational skills and documented disabilities also qualify for additional employment assistance. Depending on individual needs, dislocated workers, youth and adult customers can receive a menu of services such as assignment of a case manager for career planning, development and implementation of individual employment plans, high school completion or GED, occupational training, skill development, support services and continued support after job placement.

Services are free of charge and designed to help customers meet their individual goals, whether the need is self-service information on job openings or more intensive career counseling or access to job training subsidies.
