The Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County (WDC) convenes strategic groups within particular sectors, known as "Sector Panels." These Sector Panels are made up of industry-driven leaders who together focus on workforce issues in their specific industry. Participants represent major employers, industry groups, education, labor unions, economic development, service organizations, and others.
How Did We Choose These Sectors?
The WDC annually reviews the industry sectors in King County to determine which we should choose for our workforce development efforts, and what those strategies should be. Industry leaders may also request that the WDC convene a sector panel based on workforce needs that they have identified in their industry.
The key criteria are:
Economic Size and Scope
Supply and Demand Alignment
Potential for Impact
