Request for Proposals #15-09: Healthcare Workforce Training Redesign/Curriculum Development

The Workforce Development Council (WDC) of Seattle-King County announces the release of RFP #15-09 to solicit proposals from training providers to develop new/redesigned programs to address gaps in support of implementation of its HHS-funded Health Workforce for the Future (HWF) project.  HWF will build from lessons learned to enhance education and employment outcomes in the healthcare field for TANF recipients and other low income youth and adults.

Interested entities may submit responses until 4:00pm on Friday, January 22, 2016.  A joint Bidder’s Conference for RFP #15-09 and companion solicitation RFQ #15-08 will be held on December 9, 2015.  Questions may be emailed to operations@seakingwdc.org through December 18, 2015.

Request for Qualifications #15-10: Disability Employment Initiative Service Delivery

The Workforce Development Council (WDC) of Seattle-King County announces the release of RFQ #15-10 to solicit qualifications from eligible organizations for the delivery of services to support job seekers with disabilities through the Disability Employment Initiative (DEI) program.  DEI will deliver services and further develop systems, services, and career pathways for job seekers with disabilities in the WorkSource System.

Request for Qualifications #15-06: Aerospace Training Funding

To help produce the next generation of highly skilled employees that King County’s aerospace industry needs to compete, Executive Dow Constantine and the Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County announced that $250,000 will be available for high-demand aerospace training.

Funded through federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act dollars, the WDC’s Sector Partnership National Emergency Grant uses sector strategies to create coordinated, demand-driven efforts to train and employ recently laid-off workers.

The WDC seeks proposals from multiple institutions of higher education, such as community or technical colleges, 4-year universities, registered apprenticeship programs and/or other providers of training that have the expertise and capacity to quickly implement an aerospace industry-focused, cohort-based training that helps individuals attain jobs in Aerospace and Supply-Chain occupations.

The purpose of the training will be to increase:

1.       enrollments in training that results in an employer-recognized credential;

2.       training retentions and completions; and

3.       the number of individuals qualified for, getting, and retaining employment in demand occupations directly related to the training program.

Request for Proposal #15-05: Youth at Work Year-Round Services

The Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County (WDC) is pleased to announce the release of its Youth at Work Year-Round Request for Proposal (RFP). The WDC's RFP solicits competitive bids under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to identify and fund organizations that will design innovative programming and comprehensive services that result in youth achieving academic and employment success. The WDC will award up to $2.6 million in WIOA Youth funding. Proposals are due electronically to operations@seakingwdc.org on June 4, 2015 at 5pm PST.
