• Center for Construction Excellence – The Center for Construction Excellence at Renton Technical College is an alliance of employers, industry associations, educators, community-based organizations, government, workforce and labor—all cooperating, leveraging public and private resources, sharing funding and referring students to effective construction-related training resources in Washington.
• The Seattle-King County Building and Construction Trades Council, AFL-CIO – An organization of 27 local union affiliates, three district councils and five local union associate members, representing 20,000 building tradespeople in the King County area.
• The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties (MBA) – The Master Builders website includes links to trades training and hands-on career exploration experiences, such as If I Had a Hammer for schoolchildren.
• Youth Build, operated locally by King County Work Training Program, works with young adults between the ages of 16-24 who are currently out of school and residing in King County. Education and job training are integrated into all aspects of the Youth Build experience revolving between two weeks of work and two weeks of school. Participants are paid to work while they complete their education, constructing a house for a family in need.
• ANEW – This nonprofit partners with South Seattle Community College to provide apprenticeship prep training to low-income individuals. ANEW operates The Apprenticeship Opportunities Project (AOP) that particularly assists women, people of color and those facing barriers to employment.
