Health-care workers. Mechanics. Electricians. Firefighters.
All of these are critical jobs in our communities and our economy. They are known as "middle-skill" jobs--requiring more than a high-school education, but less than a four-year degree. Many also pay enough to support a family. And far too many are going unfilled.
To increase awareness of these middle-skill jobs and encourage greater access to training for them, the WDC of Seattle-King County is leading Skills2Compete Washington.
Skills2Compete Washington is a statewide education campaign in partnership with The Workforce Alliance, which is leading the campaign on the national level.
Visit the Skills2Compete Washington web page to join the growing list of endorsers, to read the new report Washington's Forgotten Middle-Skill Jobs, and to learn more about this exciting effort.
