Kent Chamber of Commerce– The Kent Chamber has a large focus on manufacturing, and recently sponsored the launch of the Center for Advanced Manufacturing in Puget Sound (CAMPS). The center is a clearinghouse of resources for employers, such as technology transfer research to be applied to manufacturing and training/education resources in the region. The Kent Chamber also hosts an annual Manufacturing Appreciation Week in late spring.
Center for Manufacturing Excellence–The Center for Manufacturing Excellence is an alliance of employers, industry associations, educators, community-based organizations, government, and labor—all cooperating, leveraging public and private resources, sharing funding and referring students to the most effective Manufacturing Technology training resources in Washington State. As part of the Center for Excellence, SCC has developed a Certificate in Basic Manufacturing, including a course to serve ESL students.
Puget Sound Industrial Excellence Center – A coalition of industry, education, labor, legislators, community-based organizations, and other related stakeholders focused on supporting Duwamish-area industrial businesses and training workers for occupations there. The center includes South Seattle Community College’s Duwamish campus, which includes 22 apprenticeship training programs. A major goal of PSIEC is to add services to assist local businesses with a particular focus on manufacturing, construction, and transportation industries.
"Dream It Do It" campaign – A national campaign led by the National Association of Manufacturers, aimed at encouraging youth to consider career opportunities in the manufacturing sector. Washington State is one of three current localized campaigns across the U.S.
Washington Manufacturing Services – A statewide, nonprofit agency providing training to businesses in manufacturing principles and customized training (i.e. Lean Manufacturing).
